Charlie grew up just outside of New York City in Westchester County, CT, but throughout his life, he’s been drawn to the mountains. Following time spent living in the Rockies in Colorado, Charlie enrolled in the National Outdoor Leadership School in East Africa, where he spent a year camping and hiking with the Masai people in Kenya and Tanzania.

Total immersion in a vastly different culture taught Charlie not only valuable survival skills but also turned him into a great listener, adept communicator, and an open person who makes fast friends. After Africa, Charlie studied environmental science at Johnson State College in Johnson, VT. A career in sales and marketing took him all over New England, New York, and New Jersey, but when he was ready to make a career change and travel less, Charlie honed in on a place that he’d seen in his travels and longed to settle in: the White Mountains. In no time, Charlie has amassed a locals’ knowledge of the towns and trails of Mount Washington Valley as well as the lakes and ponds of western Maine.
